BlackBird

Rope Safety Device | for ropes Ø 11.2–13 mm | certified for two-person rescue | EN 12841-B/C

The BlackBird by ART was developed for climbing on both single rope (SRT) and moving double rope (DRT) systems.
It allows switching between both techniques without additional adjustments or tools, and without having to remove the rope from the device.
The design ensures identical descent behavior in both SRT and DRT configurations.

The BlackBird can be fully opened via a push button and mounted mid-rope without detaching it from the harness.
The integrated swivel ensures optimal alignment at all times. The upper carabiner attachment faces away from the user, allowing the rope to be fed smoothly and without obstruction into the device.
The upper attachment point can also be used for V-rigs as well as 3:1 or 4:1 pulley systems.
A ball-bearing redirect pulley enables smooth operation even with poor rope angles.
For individual adjustments, the cam on the friction booster can be rotated.
A carabiner eyelet allows connection to a chest harness, enabling the device to be carried during ascent.

The BlackBird is certified for two-person rescue operations on both single rope (SRT) and double rope (DRT).
All wear parts are interchangeable.
It comes with two cam options for different rope diameters.
